No one was more shocked than me when I was diagnosed with scabies mites. I am a very clean and tidy person, how did I possibly get scabies?

In my research I have learned that scabies can infect anyone and I have built this website to teach others about how to determine if someone has the infection as well as the best scabies treatments that I discovered through my ordeal with scabies.

Look around, learn, and get relief a lot faster than I did. Read more

My Healing From Scabies Begins

After months and months of suffering with scabies, I finally began to feel like I was getting better. The extreme itching was becoming less and less and my sores where beginning to heal.

I researched several herbal remedies and they brought some relief, but I discovered this one wonderful natural method kind of by accident. My Natural Scabies Treatment Guide covers this particular scabies treatment in great detail, but needless to say, I was thrilled that it worked so well and was so great for my skin in the process.

I researched a little and found out why scientifically it works, but I really couldn’t find this treatment mentioned anywhere else. I decided to build this website to help other people not suffer as long as I did with scabies and I’m sorry I have to charge for my advice, but it costs money to keep this site running and I don’t run any annoying ads on my site. I Have Scabies: The Treatment Begins

So I accepted the fact that a clean, healthy person like me had scabies and I was now armed with my insecticidal lotion prescribed by my doctor.

The doctor told me that I would have to apply the lotion to my entire body and leave it on for 24 hours. I was to wait a week and then repeat this process. I was also instructed to wash all my clothes and bedding in hot water, vacuum, and put things that couldn’t be washed in plastic bags for a couple weeks.

That doesn’t sound too bad, I thought and I was looking forward to getting my life back from this horrible scabies outbreak. I used Malathion lotion to kill the scabies mites and eggs and the lotion was quite smelly. I used the lotion as directed and started to feel slightly better in a few days, but still really itched. I had developed really large raw itching patches on my body and these places where really difficult to heal.

After a week, I was still itching and I repeated the process of applying the lotion. Again, I began to feel better, but a week later I was still itching a getting new scabies bumps. I washed everything and even used Permethrin in the wash. I applied the treatment for a third time and did a few spot treatments when I felt a new scabies pump emerging.

Over three weeks had passed and I was still itching. It was better than before but I couldn’t seem to break the cycle using the insecticides and washing everything. I think it boiled down to the difficulty of killing the scabies eggs. The eggs are far more difficult to kill than what’s reported some places online and without a treatment that could be applied almost daily, I was unable to break the cycle even after 4 full body treatments.

I began to research and try different botanicals to see if there was a more natural/ safe way to treat my scabies outbreak.

I Think That Itch is Scabies: Part 2

So I returned from my holiday in the tropics feeling slightly better, but soon the itching returned even worse than ever and I really began considering the fact that I mite have scabies.

I noticed that when I squeezed my itchy bumps a clear fluid came out so this was unlike anything I had ever had wrong with my skin. I booked an appointment to see my doctor.  At the doctor’s office I was examined and asked questions about my activities. Since I hadn’t spent time in any of the hotspot places for scabies ie. nursing homes or homeless shelters, my doctor wasn’t convinced I had scabies. Also I have a great immune system so my bumps weren’t that swollen or obvious, just really itchy. Read more

Could That Itch Be Scabies? Part 1

There are many things in this word that can make us itch and scabies is probably the last thing people want to admit as the cause.

That was so true for me. When I got my first few itchy bumps, I thought hmmm, must be a masquito. The problem with that theory was that it was Winter. Next I thought it was eczema and although it itched in the shower like eczema, it was somehow different in appearance and itch.

Scabies still hadn’t crossed my mind as I had a history of eczema in the winter but it had cleared up years ago after I started taking fish oil capsules daily. Next, I thought maybe my laundry powder was causing an allergic reaction so I switched to the sensitive skin variety. This didn’t help and the itching just started to get worse and spread. Read more
